Why waist sizes drift between sellers
There is no enforced standard for what a size thirty-two means across domestic manufacturers, and vanity sizing exists here too. Always convert the listed waist to centimetres and compare it to a measured pair of your own. Two listings both labelled the same size can differ by several centimetres, which is more than enough to make one of them unwearable.
Checking for twisted legs before shipping
Ask the warehouse for a photo with both legs laid flat and straight, viewed from directly above. If the inseam spirals around the leg instead of running straight down the inside, the fabric was cut off-grain and no amount of washing will fix it. It is the single defect most likely to make an otherwise fine pair unwearable, and it is easy to spot in a photograph.
Hemming and length planning
Trousers often arrive longer than Western buyers expect, and hemming locally is cheap and quick. Ordering slightly long is much safer than ordering short, because length can be removed but not added. If the listing offers multiple inseam options, take the longer one and have it adjusted locally rather than gambling on the shorter option fitting.
