Is GTbuy the right agent for a bulk order?
Bulk orders fail for different reasons than single ones: minimums you did not read, pack-out you did not check, freight that eats a per-unit saving. So the self-checks below are weighted accordingly. Run GTbuy through them, then apply the same nine checks to any competitor — at volume the differences are larger and worth ten minutes of arithmetic.
← Back to overviewWholesale fit, in two minutes
Minimums, pack-out, case rates, consolidation and commercial clearance. Those five decide bulk outcomes; reputation does not.
- Minimumsis the headline unit price available at your quantity
- Pack-outhow many units per carton, and whether freight follows
- Case ratesdoes consolidation actually reduce cost per unit
- Clearancecommercial quantities are assessed differently at the border
If you cannot fill these in for an agent, do not raise a bulk order yet.
Six numbers to compare any agent
Comparisons only work on the same basis. These six lines are the fixed basis used here.
| What to check | Typical range | How it moves the total |
|---|---|---|
| Service fee | 4-10% of item price | Scales with what you buy; the single biggest fixed cost. |
| Free storage | 30 days | How long rows can wait in the warehouse before you must ship. |
| Transit | 8-17 days | Warehouse days plus the international leg; holidays add 3-7 days. |
| QC photos | 4-6 per item | Your last chance to catch a wrong size before shipping. |
| Freight basis | Actual vs volumetric (÷5000 or ÷6000), greater wins | A light bulky box can bill as several times its weight. |
| Consolidation | Free; 3+ items cut freight 30-60% | The largest lever you control on the total bill. |
Six questions for a bulk decision
Weighted towards quantity, because quantity is what changes the answer.
Headline figures are often for the highest tier. Confirm the price at the quantity you will actually buy.
Units per carton determines freight, handling and whether a case rate applies at all.
Full cartons move cheaper per kilo than the same goods spread across part-boxes.
For heavy, non-urgent stock the slow option can be an order of magnitude cheaper. Check both exist.
Commercial quantities attract scrutiny. Declare what you can defend.
At forty units, two bad ones is a rate, not an incident. Know where you stand before ordering.
Nine checks, wholesale-weighted
The same nine work for GTbuy and for any competitor. Mark each good, acceptable or weak for your order.
Whether minimums are stated clearly rather than discovered later
Whether units per carton are recorded before you buy
Whether full cartons are assembled rather than part-boxes shipped
Whether both economy and express options exist for heavy cargo
Whether documentation for commercial quantities is handled properly
Whether units are checked for colour drift and count, not just one sample
Whether unit costs are shown before you commit
How disputes over a case are resolved, not just over an item
Whether the prohibited list is published and checkable
